Jacquelyn’s Story

Who I Am & Where I’ve Been:

I am a 24-year-old mother of one. My abuser was the most amazing man when I met him. But after a few months, it became obvious that he was not who he appeared to be. The physical abuse was unbearable, with numerous broken bones that were never allowed to be treated and healed properly. His abuse was all encompassing and flowed into every area of my life. I took many beatings to protect my child. I tried to leave many times, but always went back because I believed I deserved it and believed I could never make it on my own.

How Thrive Has Helped:

Because of Thrive I was able to finally leave and never look back. Because of their support and walking alongside me, I was able to start a new life for my son and I. I am now happily married and have two more children and have a home of my own and a life I only dreamed of but never believed I was worthy of!
