Karen’s Story

Who I Am & Where I’ve Been:

I am 32 years old and have 5 children to 4 different abusers. I have many health issues that really affect my life. I do as much as I can, but unfortunately have always been dependent on a man. And because of my health I am always made to feel like I am a burden, and that I deserve the treatment that I get. Unfortunately, several of the abusers also took out their anger on my older children, leading to behavior issues and so much more.

How Thrive Has Helped:

Without Thrive I could have never left the abuse. They helped to move me and provided furniture and offered so many resources! They have been there for me when no one else was. And they have loved on my children and never once did they make us feel like we were a burden. I am now happily married, and never could have imagined the life that I am living. Thrive made it possible for me to leave the abuse and then stay free!
