Chelsea’s Story

Who I Am & Where I’ve Been:

I am 43 years old and I have four children to my abuser and husband of 20 years. I tolerated the abuse because I believed I deserved it and believed I had no other choice. I had to protect my children and tried to make a good life for all of us. I have been a stay at home mom and have homeschooled our kids their entire life, but when my abuser chose to leave last year as part of an affair, he left me with no support or resources at all.

How Thrive Has Helped:

Because of Thrive I have had the help I needed to remove tons of junk from the property that my husband left behind. While also being able to connect with local resources and find a new place for myself and my children to start over. The court did take my children and give them to my abuser, but Thrive is supporting me through the process of working to get my children back. I am excited about a fresh start and a new future for my children and I.
