Cami’s Story

Who I Am & Where I’ve Been:

I am a 40 year old mother of three. Because of the abuse I suffered as a child I have chosen abusers my entire life. Because of my childhood, I chose drugs to do pain. When I gave birth to my twins, I chose my drug of choice over them. I had to claw my way back from hopelessness and addiction to regain my freedom and independence. Along the way I met my Abuser and had my daughter. But something changed this time and I knew that she deserved a better life so I got clean! And I have never looked back!

How Thrive Has Helped:

Because of the help of Thrive and programs like it I have been able to turn my life around. I got a college degree and I’m now able to help other addicts like me. I have an amazing relationship with my daughter, but unfortunately, my twins still have not forgiven me. I work hard every day to remain clean and sober and free from abuse!
