Who I Am & Where I’ve Been:

I am 28 years old and I have one child. My abuse started as part of an impulsive relationship with a wealthy man. I had no idea what was in store for me. This man has manipulated and controlled me to the point that I have to meet him randomly for “hook ups” so that he doesn’t take my child from me. Because of who he is, I believe he has the power to do this… And so I am at his mercy. I must do whatever he asks of me and it kills me inside a little more each day.

How Thrive Has Helped:

Although I am currently homeless and recently had an abortion because of the continued rape, Thrive has been there to help me emotionally walk through this journey. In fact, my mentor at Thrive is the only person I’ve ever told what is happening to me. Thrive has become a safe place for me, and although I don’t see a solution yet… For the first time I feel that there is hope.
