Who I Am & Where I’ve Been:

I am a 26 year-old survivor of childhood molestation. My sister and I were both molested, but our parents still to this day will not acknowledge what was done to us. Because of this, I did not even understand what happened to me until I was in my late teens. I have struggled so much since then, trying to cope with what was done to me and with my parents lack of help and their complete denial. It has left me so broken, that I continue to make bad choices, including choosing abusive partners.

How Thrive Has Helped:

Thrive gave me a safe place to share my trauma, and they were some of the first people to actually believe in me. They helped me find resources and a therapist that could help me. With their help I was able to complete my GED and take college courses online so that I could finally find a job that is fulfilling. I am engaged and in a few months, I will be married! I cannot believe how far I’ve come in the last few years with Thrive’s help!
